Floetry by JulietKego: “Walk the Lone Road But Not Alone….”

“Each of us has the right and the responsibility to assess the road which lie ahead and those which we have traveled. And if the future road looms ominous or unpromising, and the road back uninviting, then we need to gather our resolve and carrying only the necessary baggage, step off that road into another direction. If the new choice is also unpalatable, without embarrassment, we must be ready to change that one as well.”

~Maya Angelou~

Walk the lone road, but not alone

The road destined to push and test

The road of discomfort, of unrest

That path laced with tears and filled with pain

Set it down, your heavy, drowning load

And travel unburdened, light and free

To that place where peace doth reign.

Walk the lone road, but not alone

Walk with Moses, on land and sea

Keep going until you find your promise land

Where blessings abound like grains of sand

As has been written, as has been long foretold

Let heart and spirit sing as these promises unfold.

Walk the lone road, but not alone

Follow your soul’s path and walk with Ruth

Walk until you find love, your soul’s eternal truth

Speak this truth with power, without restraint

Stand in the light, reborn, without blemish or taint

Trade in your cross for the bejewelled crown

Your rented robes for Joseph’s colourful garment

And in the fusion of the vibrant, healing colours

Become one with the eternal light in the sacred moment

In the waters of the lamb, all pain and darkness drown.

Walk the lone road, but not alone

Stand with angels, and joyously sing

Along with David, compose psalms for a King

Enter that sacred place, co-create with the King of kings

Awakened, you’ll find beauty in all people and things.

Walk the lone road and never alone

Walk on your life’s path, beautiful and unique

Dare to show up and take your own journey

Grace abounds, to both the poor and the rich

With every footstep, paradise’s within reach

Yes, you’ll find your sweet heaven within,

Right there, here, at your own doorstep.
