10 Little Things that can make a Big Difference in your life in 2014!

Ghandi“Personal transformation can and does have global effects. As we grow, so does the world, for the world is us. The revolution that will save the world is ultimately a personal one.” ~Marianne Williamson~

“As we prepare for a new year, take the time to fall madly, deeply and passionately in love, with yourself! Re-discover yourself as you truly are: a beloved child of a loving God.

This is the season of Re-Birth and New Beginnings. A KING was born to and for you! You are that special and wonderful! OWN your magnificence. NEVER let the outside world strip you of your essence and dignity.

YOU are a precious gift to the world. Live passionately, purposefully and powerfully. Dream wonderful dreams and create beautiful memories…” ~#UNLockingYourHeArtofLeadership~

Just a few more days to go and the New Year will unveil itself! What are your goals, dreams and aspirations for 2014? Forget about mere ‘resolutions’, begin to make ‘Sacred Contracts’ with yourself. What do you desire to achieve by December 31st, 2014? WHO do you want to be by the end of next year? Begin to BE that person from this moment.

Napoleon HillStarting NOW, speak it as if it were already done. Step out in FAITH and walk your talk. God opens up the universe with the right people and opportunities once we KNOCK and ASK, and actually stand in the firm expectation that the door will be OPENED and you will RECEIVE. Surrender and Allow yourself to soar!

Here are some ‘little’ things that if you imbibe and practice, will transform your life in 2014:

1. Accept that you can never please everyone, stop trying to, period! Practice the habit of saying an empowered ‘YES’ or ‘NO’ when appropriate (rather than acquiescing to everything from everyone based on your own fears of insecurity, judgement, unworthiness or societal pressure). Build up healthy boundaries, you will enjoy your life better that way.

2. Stop comparing yourself to others because all you can ever be is you, duh? The compare and contrast game  drains you and leaves you bereft of the creative energy to be the best you possible!

3. Let go of the past, stop worrying about the future and live the heck out of the present moment! You can only do so much, choose the path you have the most control over. Choose to live in the NOW!

4. Become more empathetic. Stop judging people and start focusing more on being the best you, every.single.day! Decide to love more. Pay more attention to the people already in your life. Sometimes, we seek more people and opportunities outside our existing circles. However, we may get more value by looking inwards and consolidating the existing relationships we already have.

5. Learn to live within your means. Anything else, is a recipe for disaster.

6. Have a clear vision for your year, break down your plans into quarterly, monthly and weekly goals. A day before, set your intentions for the next day and pay attention to your intentions. Become more congruent. Let your actions align with who and what you want for yourself.

7. Quit lying to yourself. There are no excuses or reason for your failure(s). YOU are the only person standing between your purpose and destiny. In 2014, tell yourself only empowering stories. Begin to see your ‘failures’ as feedback for how and where to course-correct in your life’s journey. Be gentle and forgiving of yourself and your so-called ‘mistakes’. Surrender and accept your humanity. And also arise and embrace your divinity. You are a sacred mystery, your life may not always make sense, stop trying to figure it all out, and just focus on living it well.

8. Join a group of like-minded people and volunteer your time, expertise, money, energy, towards a worthwhile cause. Make a difference, no matter how small. Surround yourself with people who see and bring out the light in you. You are a being of light and love, decide to plant yourself in garden(s) that will nurture your growth. Do more of what you love and obliterate the negativity in your life.

9. Take better care of your body, it is your sacred vessel for being. Have a fun activity or sport(s) you engage in regularly. Practice the 80-20 rule of good nutrition; eat a minimum of 80% healthy foods and indulge in a maximum of 20% of …(fill in the blanks) 🙂

10. Carve out resources and dedicate them to your personal development, in all areas of your life (Health, Finances, Community, Leisure, Spirituality, Your Purpose/Passions, Mental/Emotional growth etc). If you’re not growing, you’re dying. You cannot do both simultaneously. Choose to grow, evolve and transform your life.

Whatever you do, do NOT sit on the sidelines. Get off the toxic fence and LIVE! Life is waiting for you, take that next step, and amaze even yourself!

DAY 18: Take ACTION and Transform Your Life!

comfort 2Questions of the Day: Do you really know yourself? Do you live in constant awareness of how you’re changing and growing? Do you understand your strengths and use them in service of self and others? Do you have clarity on your weaknesses? Are you humble enough to surround yourself with people who complement your weaknesses and harness your  skills and talents?

Who are you teaching and who are you learning from? Life is a constant exchange of value, how are you exchanging energy and resources with others? Do you realize that in order to give and receive, you must be constantly growing? Are you choosing to be stagnant or are you boldly creating your own flow?

WWN Reflection DAY 18: Take ACTION and Transform Your Life!

Today’s reflective focus is on PERSONAL GROWTH. The choice to learn and grow each day is a path that leads to wholeness and joy. You are able to impact, influence, change and inspire yourself and others around you, when you make yourself open to life-long learning, growing and exploring.

oprahImagine for a moment that a curious child who is 10 years, who has always been creative, open and had always sought knowledge, suddenly wakes up one day and declares: ‘I am smart and wise enough!’

And then shuts himself off from the world, refuses to learn new things, to grow, to ask question and chooses to only live the rest of his life based on the knowledge he’s acquired in life up until that age 10. Think of how limited, colourless and stunted that child’s life will become.

And yet this is exactly how some of us approach life. This is exactly how colourless, stunted and limited our lives become when we shut off our learning buds and creative cells and refuse to be open to new ideas, perspectives, ways of doing business, and new approaches to living.

Personal growth and development is a journey to expand our awareness and live out the knowledge we have gained. It is the ability to transit from intellectual ‘knowing’ to experiential living. You cannot continue to be the person you are now if you want to become the you of your dreams.

InspirationYou alone are responsible for your growth. You alone must take control of your growth and progress. You must be accountable to yourself in the use of your God-given unique talents, abilities, skills and resources. You get to choose what your journey would be and how it all plays out. Inspire and motivate yourself to achieve your own growth. It is your life after all!

The quality of your relationships will often reflect your journey and your growth. Who and what you surround yourself with matter a lot. Begin to show a deeper level of awareness in your life, business and community. Have clarity on your personal/career/business/life goals. Know why certain people are in your life, what role(s) certain events and situations play in your overall purpose. Know why you go where you go, know what you say and understand why you say it. Meaningless conversations, events or situations that offer you nothing but negativity are a waste of your resources.

Reflect on the different areas of the sphere of life and take action in all of them. (Focus more attention on the area that gives you the most pain). Feed each area and grow in each area. The moment we are out of balance in one area, it begins to affect all the other areas negatively.  So pay more attention to people, places, situations and things that drain or deplete you. And know what replenishes, re-charges and rejuvenates you. Know your source and your re-source. Know when to re-fuel and when to discharge. Know who you are and whose you are!

Have a dedicated budget and allocate resources to your growth. Water the gardens of your mind. Sow seeds of creativity, knowledge and be open to new ideas and perspectives. We grow through various means: The books we read, the movies/tv shows/plays we watch, the music we listen to, the games we play, the people we meet, the events we attend, the places we travel to, the conversations we have and how we work and worship. We grow in noisy, busy ‘crowds’ and we also grow alone, in our silence. Everything depends on how you choose to exchange energy both with yourself and with the universe.

One of the true tests of growth is the ability to revisit a past painful/challenging event and see new perspectives, interpretations and outcomes. Growth gives us options and choices. It allows us to acquire wisdom and thus develop an eagle eye on events and situations. Growth fosters behavioural flexibility. Real growth is maturity, a deepening of our understanding of our connectedness and relationships. It leads to more empathy, acceptance, forgiveness and expansion of our model of the world.

Growth is a beautiful dynamic process, it is not static. It may not always be easy but it is always fulfilling. Grow in the direction of your light and purpose. Growth has different seasons Pay attention to your seasons: farming, fasting, sacrificing, healing, tilling, sowing, watering, weeding, harvesting, gathering, feasting, sharing and glorifying. You are unique so also are your seasons. Avoid the compare and contrast game. It is at the root of all discontent, greed, and unhappiness. Growth will gift you with the spirit of contentment and gratitude.

“CONTENTMENT is what transforms your ‘hut’ into a beautiful mansion. A house is a house, it is your ENERGY that transforms it into a HOME. Build homes based on foundation of love, forgiveness, warmth, acceptance, peace and joy! The outside world can be hellish sometimes, so it is important to create your own safe haven of glory. You carry your HEAVEN with you where ever you go. Contentment means that you know and live your truth.

You are enough. You have enough. And you have the unique talent and ability to create more whenever you really need and want it. All you have to do is DECIDE and then take ACTION congruent with your decision. Growth leads to empowerment. Empowered individuals create empowered homes, families and workplaces, these in turn create empowered communities and societies. We can build the society of our dreams and it all starts with YOU!” ~Excerpt from the upcoming book: ‘UN-Locking Your HeArt of Leadership’~

Take ACTION and choose to grow!  Take risks, step out of your ‘grey zone’, there’s nothing comfortable about it! Learn something new each day. Try something different. Take a little step each day. Do better and differently tomorrow that you did today. Otherwise, of what use is tomorrow? Embrace growth and become open to the amazing opportunities and interesting people all around you. Remember to celebrate your journey!

DAY 5: Take ACTION and Transform Your Life!

Questions of the Day: “How big are your goals? Do you have a glass floor or glass ceiling on your goals? What would your life be like if you had the courage to be who you dream of becoming? What will you see, hear, feel, taste when your biggest goals are achieved? Do you realize you are the only one standing in the way of your goals and purpose? Do you know and fully comprehend the limitless possibilities that abound all around you? Are you plugged in to your source? Are you ready and willing to commit to your goals and grow? Remember, in the words of John C Maxwell, change happens in life whether we welcome it or not. Growth, however, is optional. We DECIDE to grow or stay stunted. Tony Robbins

At the core of our transformational Training, Leadership and Coaching programs are principles of Self-Love, Self-Accountability and Self-Leadership. You have the gift and ability to co-create your life and design your destiny. Own it!

WWN Reflection DAY 5: Take ACTION and Transform Your Life!

Today’s FOCUS is on the power of PERSONAL GOALS.

(i) Your goals are contracts you have with yourself. Your choice is either to honour them or break them. The consequences are different for each decision. You cannot have successful ‘contracts’ or relationships with others if you do not learn to honor your relationship with yourself. How you do one thing, invariably becomes how you do everything! Are your goals impotent or are they filled with the fire and sincerity of your being?

(ii) The biggest area in your life where you are afraid to take action on is most likely where you should be taking action! Taking action means the you made a commitment and backed it up with your resources and the universe knows to give you what you want. (Remember, whatever ye seek, ye shall find)! Are you really seeking or still sitting on the fence? A decision not to decide, is a decision in itself. If you are struggling or feeling stuck and trapped in any area of your life, perhaps you haven’t actually decided on what you want.

Journey(iii) According to the philosopher Kierkegaard, DISSATISFACTION in life is simply failing to take action steps that you know and have resolved within you that you should take. While DESPAIR is pretending to be someone else other than who you are. Who are you? Whose are you? Do you belong to yourself? to others? or to a loving Creator who can do ALL things? What is that necessary action step that you least want to do but you most have to do? Once you answer and decide on who and what YOU want, God works with the universe to make it happen.

(iv)  Imagine when a young child decides on a particular profession e.g. to become a doctor, teacher, dancer, artist etc. Once the decision is made from a point of truth faith, it seems like seamlessly ALL the actions and choices become aligned with their goal: how they spend their resources, and even their study/play/sleep patterns. Become a child again. Trust the power of imagination and consistent action. All you really ever have to worry about is NOW. Give the best you can in each moment and allow nature perfect her synchronicity. Every single goal can be reduced to what you do today, the actions you take in the NOW! Take the step for today. Show up and be fully present in your life, the path reveals itself with each step you take. Do not focus on the outcome or results, simply take the journey!

Unknown 1(v) ‘Made in HIS image’ is NOT a theory! The universe is a manifestation of you because you are one with God. You are a co-creator of your destiny. If you invest your time, money and energy, and back your ideas with passions and emotions, your goals will materialize. This is the perfect time to focus and channel everything you have (prayers, thoughts, words, actions) towards your goals.

vi) Pray hard and work harder towards your goals. If that fails, work hard and pray harder. At some point, critical mass occurs. Everything happens in the spiritual and takes root in the formless world, before it begins to form and manifest physically. Our biggest asset is FAITH however, DECISION precedes faith. You always have the power of choice. You can transform your life. You can change. It requires commitment, focus and self-discipline. As you read this,  you are changing and growing. Each day you take action, you are more beautiful, healthier and wealthier, now your task is the simply part: to actually LIVE IT!

Another key point regarding success in carrying out your goals is discipline. You must be consistent with your goals. Start small, make simple goals and carry them out. Begin to retrain your unconscious mind. Say something and actually follow with it. Show up when you RSVP. Pay your bills on time. Keep your promises. Explain ahead of time if you won’t and reschedule. When we are faithful with the little things, the bigger things show up naturally, because there are no ‘little’ things, there are simply BIG things broken down into seemingly small ones.

Your conscious mind is the go-setter, however your unconscious mind is the go-getter. All change, learning and behaviour is unconscious! The more you train your ‘goal muscles’, the more your unconscious mind will respect, cooperate and listen to you. Respect is reciprocal. A word, affirmation or goal released into the universe is an open loop. Keep your words and the universe will keep hers to you too. And the more easily and effortlessly your bigger goals will be accomplished.

Lead yourself to a life of excellence, success and joy. Regardless of the outcome, as long as you take consistent, committed steps in the direction of your life’s purpose, you WILL succeed because it is who you become in the journey that counts, not the end result. Life is a dynamic process, it is not static. The universe is always in flow, so flow with it, in the direction of your dreams. First, you have to DECIDE, get out of your own way and allow yourself to soar!

DAY 4: Take ACTION and Transform Your Life!

Personal Growth and Leadership Development with Kim Redman (PhD).

“Your ‘self-talk’ gradually becomes a permanent part of your life’s ‘Hard Drive’. Your self-talk is very important because it becomes your pre-determined way of looking at life (your paradigm). Negative self-talks are like dangerous viruses in your life, and a simple ‘delete’ key will not be adequate to fix the malfunction. You may have to erase, reformat or completely change your Hard-Drive.”

~Whole Woman Network~ (Excerpt from WWN’s Life Transformation Program: ’90 Days to a Healthier, Sexier, Wealthier You’)

————————————————————————————————————–

A few weeks ago, I participated in a workshop hosted by Gerry Roberts, International bestselling author of The Millionaire Mindset, and facilitated by Coach extraordinaire Kim Redman (PhD), the only Board Certified Master NLP Trainer in Canada. Kim

I must admit that the only reasons I attended (reluctantly too), were because: i. I was inundated with so many emails and ii. I was in between clients and needed a time filler!

Three hours later, after listening to both Gerry and Kim, I was so glad I attended.  I am really grateful to have been a part of that experience. A lot of the thoughts shared were not new ideas  but they presented them with such fresh insights and most importantly, they provided a compelling call to action.

Here’s my condensed interpretation of some interesting nuggets shared by Mr Roberts and Ms Redman:

1. Most people are lacking in many areas of their lives because they simply do NOT know what they are seeking;

2. Success often eludes us because we focus on the fruits and not the roots. For instance, true wealth begins only when we realize that money is not tangible rather it is an energy, it is a concept. So, we do not want money rather what money can do for us;

3. Time is a unique commodity: you cannot save it, trade it or buy it. It can only be leveraged and spent, so spend wisely;

4. In today’s empathy-driven economy, people do not care about what you do. They are more interested in why you do it. In the words of John C. Maxwell: ‘People do not care how much you know, until they know how much you care’. Learn to connect passionately/meaningfully with people in order to have sustainable personal and professional relationships. Connect from the heart first, always;

5. No amount of knowledge is enough to get you fully confident now. To have mastery and expertise, you have to do new things often enough. (Formula for Confidence=Consistency over Time). This is the time for experiential learning (you do not just read about it but you go through it);

6. Sometimes you just have to scream because your brain  needs the oxygen. Learn to unwind and revive your body, mind, soul and spirit;

7. Stop thinking that the big deal is listening to great speakers or attending events. The big deal is taking action, it is actually going out there and doing something;

8. You may need to radically change your life to get where you want to go;

9. Embrace fear because it never goes away. Let your mission be to always act in spite of the cobra of fear;

10. Leadership is not so much about being as it is about doing. Leadership is an evolving set of skill-set. It is your responsibility to find out what you need and to go out and get them. Lead yourself first because you are the Light-House;

11. Sitting on the fence of life will never take you anywhere. Do you want to be Happy, Healthy, Wealthy? Then decide, choose and design the life you want. Unless you decide, you will never believe because every belief you have, you had to decide to belief first;

12. There is an intersection between Quantum Physics and Faith: ‘All possibilities exist in the eternal.’-Mark 9:23

13. Take action towards the life of your dreams. Small steps everyday generate momentum. Do something 3 times/day it becomes a pattern or routine; Repeat it daily for one month and it becomes a habit; Do it 1000 times and it becomes indelible (It sets in a program in your subconscious and you do it without thinking);

14. In the dimension of time, 3 am is the hour of completion of the unconscious mind. If you are consistently up at 3 am, then there may be an unresolved conflict;

15. When people share ideas that are bigger than your mind can comprehend, do you fight them, ridicule them or ignore them? Be wary of someone who would summarily dismiss an idea for no reason;

16. Learn to monetize your experiences and your pains. Our greatest learning is often not gained from successes but from failures;

17. Excellence is a  habit. It is not genetic. It is what you repeat everyday until it becomes second nature. How you do one thing is how you do all things;

18. Other people’s opinion of you should not be your business. Never mind what others are telling you, what is most important is what you are telling yourself. Since you are already telling yourself stories, you may as well tell good stories;

19. Your ‘self-talk’ is very important because it becomes your pre-determined way of looking at life (your paradigm);

20. Your conscious mind is the ‘goal-setter’ while you unconscious mind is the ‘go-getter’. Your unconscious mind is the equivalent of a 5-7 year old. It is a realm where everything is possible.
