When an ‘APPLE’ is not just an apple…..RIP Steve Jobs!

A few hours ago, I heard of the passing of the legendary innovator and master salesman: Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple. It is no news that Mr Jobs had battled pancreatic cancer for some time and yet his death was still a huge shock to me.  As I sat watching the tv to absorb the loss of this genius that blessed us with his passion and gifts of creative invention and mastery of sales, I realised that my children also shared his loss with me. It struck me as profound, that a man could touch so many different generations with his products and in the process created a new lifestyle for us all. He connected meaningfully, heart-to-heart, soul-to-soul, with us all and elevated his products to become a part of the fabric of our lives. We invested ourselves along with him because we all wanted to be a part of his passion and magic!

Steve Jobs’ philosophy is something all Whole Woman Networkers share. He’d often cited passion, trust of one’s intuition, courage to dream and follow through, freedom in creativity and generous team spirit as the pivot of  his success in life.

And so today, all of us at Whole Woman Network mourn his transition but more importantly, we celebrate his strengths and also acknowledge his weaknesses. His creative leadership style that selflessly scouted and naturally attracted clusters of other great talents and generously built up a next generation of leaders to take the baton, we celebrate his courageous spirit which led him to follow his dreams against all odds, we celebrate his impatient but innovative and curious mind, his clarity and his relentless passionate pursuit simply by following his heart and intuition and most of all, his legacy of giving back and sharing all of himself, totally and selflessly with the world.

RIP Steve Jobs, thank you sir, for gifting us with one of the most symbolic fruits of life and creativity: the APPLE.

Some inspiring quotes by Steve Jobs:

” You need a lot of passion for what you’re doing because its so hard. Without passion, any rational person would give up. So if you’re not having fun doing it, if you don’t absolutely love it, you’re going to give up. And that’s what happens to most people, actually. If you look at the ones that ended up being successful in the eyes of society, often times its the ones who love what they do,so they could persevere when it got really tough. And the ones that didn’t love it, quit. Because they’re sane, right? Who would put up with this stuff if you don’t love it? So its a lot of hard work and its a lot of worrying constantly. If you don’t love it, you’re going to fail.”-Steve Jobs

” Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most importantly, have courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

Some of my favourite quotes celebrating the demise of this great American icon and true global citizen:

Steve Jobs’ vision of his products is so crystal clear it was as though he visited the future and then came back to execute and build them.”-Alexa Vodobel

“Michelle and I are saddened to learn of the passing of Steve Jobs. Steve was among the greatest of American innovators – brave enough to think differently, bold enough to believe he could change the world, and talented enough to do it”….President Barak Obama

So everyone, now more than ever, make the decision to live beautifully! live passionately! live freely!
